JUST DO IT
I had a nice experience yesterday night. I went to have dinner to little India at a restaurant called Banana Leaf, very known locally. Its serves food from north and south of India. It doesn’t have plates or forks and people eat with the hands. First they bring the food very tidy in small bolls divided per tastes and flavours, then you put the rice at your leaf and after you put the different sauces or meat on the top of the rice, finally you just use your right hand to put the food in your mouth and eat it (remember in matters of protocol, ancient India and Asian countries used the left hand because of hygienic matters so they never eat with the left hand, it is a “dirty” hand). I already knew Indian traditions, but I was never in India and I don’t remember having ate a dish food with my hands (usually only bread or sandwiches, heehaw). Maybe when I was younger with my friend Patricia in Algarve or with Susana! Definitely a long time ago.
At the first seconds it was a very strange impression, but then it was quite amusing. I had a great Fun. Like the brand Nike announces: JUST DO IT!
FIRST WEEK OF WORK
My first week of work was very nice and different from what I’m used to. I had a full day with Eline Koh at the museum of Design regarding the colors use and the space optimization for working teams. First she explained me the Asian vision, then the museum history. After I was told about the colours itself in a Singaporean point of view. After a full day of sketches, awards, exchange of ideas and doubts posing , she invited me to be present on Saturday night at the launch party of new products of known brands! So Singaporean Chinese are not cold, they just check out people first!
The second meeting happened when I met an investor of resorts around the world which embraces colour features. You cannot imagine where we met!
At the GYM!!! Yes its true.
His secretary, his assistant and him came to my hotel at 8.30 to do some sports and to meet me. There, we talked about mundane things, the weather, tourism and the countries. Then after the shower of course, we re-met at a breakfast restaurant to start our meeting.
The sports cut the cold of the first meeting because you see the person in gym suite, then you informally introduce yourself, they kind of analize your personality and your way of being, then you relax with your gym and music and also oxygen your brain! Then yes, you wash yourself and you are ready to work hard! The all day.
After this start You do not need 10 coffee breaks a day to cutting working hours, you have person equilibrium even with the people you work with, you arrive to the meeting energized and confident...after all you saw the team in Gym Suite! Eh! The productivity here is very high and people have fun too. They just separate waters. They focus on the present of what they are doing.
What I’m learning here (extra from the work itself) are two very important things for my life!
1. Knowing that having several activities are well seen and appreciated when you focus in what we are doing at the present moment.
2.The mind has to be clean to focus, has to be energized to focus, has to be free of preoccupations to focus, and has to be out of other people to focus. Even if you have 10 activities per day; you focus on the one you are doing NOW.
I very appreciated this ideas I’ve been learning. I’m a million project person and I’m not going to change, I’m a good time manager, I’m organized and that is good. But I used to think a million things at the same time and sometimes my head didn’t have a break of the ideas that were constantly arriving to my brain processor. Structure is the thing I’m learning, a different one for people like me. I was in a wrong structure trying to adapt to the others way of work and now I’m learning my own with people like me: optimize my way of work, my life and of course my thoughts fluency.
I learned a lot in my previous jobs, I do not demerit them. But the productivity, the fastness, the "keep rolling' procedures are more my type and I’m loving it.
I’m improving myself.
That’s the purpose of life isn’t it?
To grow as a human being, to become more flexible, more open minded, more fearless, kinder to others and their selves and better professionals. Like Henry Ford wrote
Life is a series of experiences, each one make us bigger, even though is hard to realise this. For the world was built character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grief’s which we endure help us marching onwards.

MANNERS AND ETIQUETTE
I’m here for a new phase of my life around Asia. Discovering the beauties of cultural differences. What do you do when you meet new people for instance? Do you kiss them, do you give a hand shake, and do you bow yourself? This is one of the things I’m working on... International protocol, attitudes, manners and Etiquette. It is so important for people that work around the world to know this feature as breathing! I’m very glad to have spent time studying, mesmerising myself on it. Now I just need to go further and further around Asia behaviour, every day more globalized.
COLONIAL SINGA PURA
When Sir Thomas Raffles arrived to Singapore in 1819 to make the Island a Bastion of his empire - the British Empire, the city transformed into a hub for Southeast Asia which brought a huge amount of Chinese inhabitants for work. Now the city has more than 70 per cent of Chinese people. And the mandarin is the language spoken.
SINGA PURA
SINGAPORE
SINGA + PURA
Do you know that Singa is lion and Pura is city in the ancient Malay language?
So, city of the Lion here I am. A former poor island of fisherman is now a fishery of business, comfort houses, growing affairs city and a travelling Hub. Clean, as clean as I never have seen in my life (note I was never in Switzerland!)
Nice people, the Singapore Chinese are very open minded and very gentle. We find a very good food and a new race the Eurasians! That I will write about it these days!
Impressive city for her organization! You know me; I like organized things as much as I like the unpredictable. Both stunned me. I’m a paradox as a person so the differences, the black, and white and the colourful create a strong feeling inside of my perception. Organization is not boring it is a kind of freedom as well. We feel in Singapore one unusual freedom. 0% criminal rate.
Actually it is a Lion city as the way of being: it conquers her space at the same time offers comfortable surroundings for those who decide to live in it. I’m impressed. In Portuguese Singapore is writen in the right way> SINGAPURA

Goodbye Thailand ... for now
James Bond Island
This Island was the place where part of the movie the James Bond - the Man with the golden Gun with Roger Moore as 007. I was impressed how a movie changes a lace completely, comparing to the caves and the Phangang bay this was a touristic place where the boats stopped for the Scenery. However I loved the swim until the big rock in those light green waters. Natural
Caves at the Bay
Patong Beach and Kata
Everything was still destroyed, no more arms or legs from the destroyed resorts in 2004 Tsunami but the scenery was quite provocative. Phuket and Patong beach are nothing more than beautiful sand and sea, reconstructed avenues and resorts, and a prostitution night with occidental guys and Thai girls, usually younger. Girls that they “rent” for a week vacation. It was nice to have stayed at Kata Beach were we found excellent seafood, a very nice relaxing environment and of course the sweet smiles of Thai people.
The Way to Andaman Sea
The Way to Andaman Sea!
After a good dive into the east coast we started the hard journey to go the other coast. First 4 hours by boat until Don Sak pier. After we took a kind of strange cab similar to the ones we saw in Bangkok usually called TukTuk. We arrived to Surat Thani and stayed there for one hour wanting the transfer to Phuket and Kata Beach where we planned to stay! We met an Austrian Girl very nice, Gaby, which helped us to have a less cavalry trip! But keep smiling and after all it was an excellent experience of cultural touches and inside conversation with locals.

ISLAND OF KOH PHANGAN THAILAND BAY
Island of Koh Phangan, Thailand Bay: Beaches from the movies, comfortable sea that covers us like a warm blanket and makes us dream with freshness, calm and peace. Traveling makes me the person I am, makes me believe what always I had inside: runaway shoes, a discover woman from the XV century heart and admiration with the world we live in: What a beautiful world!
