I just arrived to Kyoto. One of the most complete towns I had the pleasure to be. Natural scenery, temples, shrines, towns, homes with historical beauty but also a very developed town full of shopping areas and places to hang out. Very Nice and gentle people... Whether it is the Gion Festival, the Tea Ceremony or Japanese flower arrangement or Nishijin-brocade, so many aspects of characteristic Japanese culture continue to give a special flavour to Kyoto. Over a period of 1200 years, dating from the decision to move the capital to Kyoto in 794, it raised a splendid, delicate kind of culture and it is very representative of the culture within Japan. People are very nice here. I never expect that I could find openhearted people regarding the stories that I was told about the Japanese people. What a Nice surprise to feel and smell the traditional Japan, their etiquette and behaviour and also the explanations for what the people are today.
